Aperture — the kinetic style

Nothing here was ever assembled

Rings, blades and a horizon, dissolved into liquid colour. Scroll and watch them come back.

The second style: the picture is there the whole way down, smeared through noise and split into its channels until the scroll pulls it into focus

Features

  1. Present

The picture is on screen from the first pixel of scroll. It is not being built out of anything — it is being un-smeared, three octaves of noise at a time, until the displacement reaches zero.

  2. Split

Red, green and blue are sampled a little apart along the noise gradient, so every edge fringes while it travels. The separation closes as the image lands, and the last frame is the photograph.

  3. Derived

Every colour on this page was extracted from the picture behind it and verified for contrast on the final hex values. Nothing here was hand-picked.

Statement

The same camera, the same clock, the same scroll. Only the scene is different.

The aperture, resolved.
